Hagimit Falls

S

amal Island is popular for its white sand beaches. However, when you go to different parts of Samal Island, especially in Penaplata, you will discover this island is gifted with waterfalls also. The Hagimit falls is two kilometers away from Penaplata proper. It is accessible by car or a jeep. To get there you need to hike more or less 5 minutes. The local community collects P20.00 each for developments. Most of the first timer to see this place got a jaw dropping experience.

Hagimit Falls is just a small waterfall in the island that has natural swimming pools, and rock formations. It is suitable for those who want to have been relaxing moments and quick dip to fresh water. The water is very cold. This waterfall is definitely an excellent site for camping since there are some campsites available. It is well - covered with full - grown trees and different varieties of vegetation that grows along the riverbank.

The place is not yet fully developed, the forest was unspoiled. There are no massive shopping complexes, state-of-the art water sports centres or large hotel chains (like Britannia Hotels in the UK or Howard Johnson's in the United States). It is a quiet place where people come to take it slow. It is a nice get away, especially for those who are in need of a lazy break! Though his is not the best destination in Samal Island, but another break-taking spot to visit when you are spending a vacation on Samal.

hi,
i was trying to check the rates and amenities, but whenever am highlighting the the link for rates, it will highlight all of them (links) - i somehow couldn't get through. i would want to know how much is the rate for cottage and/or rooms and if there's a package. i will be going to davao this january or February... and i was checking for places to go to. i heard a lot of things about this place and am willing to take chances :)
