chemas is a nice quaint and clean place. but the owner is RUDE. the food is horrible. too many rules that defeat the purpose of chilling out. better look for other places. samal has lots of better options.

The owner is not rude. People who come to the resort are told the rules before coming. No outside food. Its that simple. That goes for any other nice resort on Semal Island. If your that cheap don't go there. Other than that service is great. Beach is one of the finest there. The owner has his own boats to pick you up at the Waterfront Insular. You want crowds go somewhere else.Chemas is quite and full of charm.

Yes, the husband of the owner is Rude. You might be someone related to the rude husband. That is why you are defending him.

Chemas is a private resort and therefore visitors must follow the rules of the place to preserve the beauty of the environment.

I like its quiet, clean and exclusive environment. The cottage is superbly maintained and its amenities up to date. If you want a serene vacation with less intrusion and your own valet service, then Chemas is for you. However, if you're the Discount Traveler who wants to party with loud music, or eat fastfood in a styro or worst....a Jejemon then avoid Chemas.

Chemas Chemas Chemas... Anyway here's the story behind... first I called chemas by telephone (2 telephone numbers in Waterfront Hotel) but no one answered the phone... so my friends decided to go to chemas and I was shocked! why? Anyway the entrance is 125 pesos each(fine!) and the rate of cottages or tables is around 500 pesos (OMG)... you cannot bring any food inside the resort even mineral water and OMG very poor customer service... this is the worst resort I ever encountered! Oh well.... we back out and move to Costa Marina (the best!). Paradise? too crowded and dont like it. :)

Guys, I tell you. NOT A GOOD RESORT!!! Me and my friends arrived at around 8 in the morning. We were just talking with a little bit of laughing, and suddenly One of the staff approached us and said, "SILENCE PLEASE! SOME OF OUR CUSTOMERS ARE STILL SLEEPING!" We were like, "WTF!!! WE CAME HERE TO ENJOY!!!" You also have to rent their cottage for 500php. Another thing, the waitress keeps on saying "order this and that" until you get annoyed. ALL I CAN SAY IS: NEVER COME TO THIS RESORT!!!!

I've been here, these are my reviews:

Food: It's fairly good.
Staff: Very courteous and accommodating
Ambiance: It's nice but there are areas that need to be cleaned and should be renovated. The pool doesn't have lights at night. Safety is not good because they don't have any life guards. The wifi was so slow that can't browse any sites. This resort should have a weekly maintenance, some of the facilities were old and dirty. That's all.

Slightly recommended.

Chemas is nice and peaceful/relaxing. Went here twice with family. Though a bit pricey, I highly recommend it if you really want a relaxing time to enjoy with your family.
